Newport News, Va. – May 13, 2026 – Integrity Defense Solutions, Inc. (IDS) today announced that its Obsidian Shield solution, first selected as “awardable” on the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace, has been chosen by the U.S. Air Force for the Ground & Remote Integrated Data – Interoperable Real-Time Operations Network (GRID-IRON) prototype effort.

Under the new agreement, Integrity Defense Solutions will deliver an affordable digital innovation strategy that closes urgent interoperability gaps across multiple combatant commands while laying the foundation for command and control supported by AI. IDS will design, build, integrate, and test Obsidian Shield pods and supporting ground equipment to prove operational and technical performance. The Obsidian Shield solution applies a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) to cut integration risk, provide a repeatable interoperability kit for multiple platforms, and establish an affordable, scalable baseline for future production—advancing the Air Force’s drive to bring aircraft into evolving combat architectures at speed and reduced cost.
